3) PSI: Police Sub Inspector
The full version ofPSI is the Police Sub Inspector (psi full form). This rank was first introduced by the British to South Asia in India and other South Asian countries. The PSI is responsible for a police station or another commanding outpost. He assists his senior colleagues in solving any case. He is responsible for other lower-ranking staff such as constables, Head constables etc.
The rules of Indian Police allow a PSI to file a case sheet in any court. By passing the Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organisation exam (SSC CPO), PSIs can be recruited into service.
